WineFUNdamentals™ is a wine education seminar company which offers in-depth instruction on the wine regions of the world.
Developed by Roxanne Langer as a result of years of wine tasting
training for wine buyers, wine writers, restaurateurs and consumers,
WineFUNdamentals™ provides wine programs for both the novice and the
wine connoisseur.
Langer, a twenty-year veteran of the
California and Pacific Northwest wine industry, has conducted wine
seminars throughout the United States, Germany, Sweden, Denmark,
France, the United Kingdom, Canada and Mexico. She has researched and
visited the vineyards and wine cellars of Austria, Canada, China, the
Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy and Switzerland, as
well as attended wine trade-only shows through out Europe, Asia and
North America.
Prior to WineFUNdamentals, Langer was the
Marketing Director for the Napa Valley Vintners Association where she
was responsible for organizing trade and consumer tastings and seminars
throughout the US, Canada, Germany and the UK for member wineries of
the NVVA.
As the Executive Director of the Northwest
Wine Coalition (Seattle, Washington) Langer represented the wineries of
Oregon, Idaho, and Washington in Northern Europe and Canada. Langer’s
responsibilities included organizing trade tastings and wine seminars
in Europe and Canada and facilitating wine buyer and wine press trips
to the Pacific Northwest wine region.
In her position
as Marketing Director for Rutherford Hill winery, she was involved in
creating the branded image of Rutherford Hill as the best-known winery
for producing “merlot.”
A graduate of the University of
the Pacific, Langer wrote her Master’s Thesis on Wine. She has attended
the University of Davis Community Education Wine Program and obtained
her Higher Certificate from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust of
the United Kingdom. Langer resides with her husband and two children
in the wine country of the Sierra Nevada Foothills and teaches wine
courses at Sierra Community College.
